Heaven is a Treasure...

I am reading a book that I have struggled through and have 91% read...when I read I like to be taken away by the book, and yes it has to be what I consider an exciting book...but this book has not been exciting to me...but I know it has been to others.

But today I read a section that really spoke to me...it is where an old Jewish man, Eli, has studied the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and by one of the characters in the book, Eli is a "covert Christian"...lol. But  Eli says "ONe day I was reading a parable that Jesus told the disciples. He said the kingdom of God is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then to his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. And it hit me, Jonathan, I was that man. I knew the truth, I'd found buried treasure. But what was I going to do about it? WAlk away? Ignore it? Or follow Christ whatever the cost?"
Now that is from :

Matthew 13:44 (New International Version, ©2011)

The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. "

We hear and are involved in what is going on in the Middle East...and we have the Bible...which has foretold all that is going on today....I must ponder this for awhile...will we allow God to take each of us where He wants us to go?

And DO NOT forget that Heaven is a treasure that all of us can share...

More pix of the special order little girls purse

The purse is almost ready to felt...I still have to sew on one side of the handle and secure the closing etc with cotton thread...then begin felting...woohoo

Today I feel PURPLE.....

For some reason today...I feel purple. Purple is rich and very Royal, can also be very bright (now I am not saying I feel bright today...just reflecting on the color). When I picture purple it always seems to be a very soft, rich, thick and lustrous velvet.

2nd Day in a row...I am Blogging again..whoohoo

Reading this am for my devotion from Max Lucado...whom I just love to read...he has such a way of giving the most wonderful pictures of our Lord in words, and using Gods word as proof of what Max wants to tell us. Today I read about how Jesus raised Jairus' daughter from the dead. He points out beautifully that even in death we do not lose someone...death is simply a transition, from earth to heaven. I have a good friend in KY, Beth Wetzel, who used to tell us how this was true, she lost her mom at a very early age, but as a believer in Christ, she knew her mom was in Heaven and she would be reunited with her one day. Thank you, Beth, for also being such a wonderful teacher in my life and thank you, Jairus, for asking Jesus to help your family.

We can all ask Jesus to help our families, no matter the situation, He loves our children more than we do (I know that is hard to understand how someone could love our children more than we do...but Jesus does.) He may not give us the answer we want all the time....but He does hear our requests and pleas....and all we have to do is talk to Him....

"Don't be afraid, Just believe, and your daughter will be well." Luke 8:50 NCV

Determined....I am determined to BLOG.....and just a thought for today...each life is a story and a very fascinating story...created individually by God and He intended our lives to be a story told each day by living for Him.

We can tell this story in so many ways...praying, worshipping, doing for others, sharing....

Our children, grandchildren, those we help, pray for, will tell this story for us...through their own lives and their memories. If we do it for our Lord it is never a loss...but will go on for eternity somewhere and we may never know where until Heaven....

"Your word, LORD, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens."  Psalms 119:89

The postmaster said they were going to try and get as much mail delivered today as possible, our trash pick up is going to try to resume today, and Forrest had to buy a shovel...lol...so he can try to shovel our walk and the neighbors walk, also...I really think he and Dover want to play.

Had to put up a new bird feeder, the old one got moisture in it and froze...poor birds...but new feeder is up...

Sunshine on my wall

We have sunshine coming through out windows this morning. but shhhhhh....don't say too much, it may go away...and we really like it and want it so stay. It have been such a long week....the snow has really brought a change to so many people's lives...they could not get to work, schools out of session, store shelves empty, businesses closed, no mail service (and you know that is never supposed to happen, what happened to the rain, sleet, snow thing for the mailmen?), people suddenly finding out they can't drive....so many changes.

OH well, bring on spring and flowers...I am ready...but it will be in God's timing not mine...:)

Reflections of a gray and white Tuesday...:)

Well the snow did not go away overnight...and it is FOGGY...so it really looks odd outside. I am afraid this is not going away for a few days...and so many things are still closed. But everything is so quiet, no traffic on the normally busy street, and our small neighborhood is very quiet, everyone stayin home.

The 23rd Psalm speak of the quietness that God gives us, verse 2
"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters"

The quietness gives a good time to reflect. As I reflect this morning, I know He has blessed me beyone measure...with a wonderful husband, three beautiful children, their spouses, and 4 absolutely wonderful grandsons.

Although we are separated by many miles, I know their love, God answers my prayers for them...they are healthful, He keeps them safe for me, and I also pray He keeps them always in His wonderful loving arms. I am not there with them....but He is always.

PEace of God...

The  Bible speaks of the  "Peace of God"...I am always asking for peace, or answers to questions, or solutions to problems from God, or better still I frequently ask Him for miracles...but I wonder if I allowed Him to give me His peace.....would I have all these questions and problems? I think not......
